At the Self-Empowerment Center you will be given the opportunity to learn self-hypnosis. Self-hypnosis is a lot like relaxation, meditation, or prayer. It can be whatever you want it to be. Self-hypnosis is a technique where you learn how to use the most powerful part of your mind – your subconscious mind- to help you remain focused on your goal until you have ultimately reached that goal. Everyone has this innate ability, but not everyone knows how to use it. You will be shown how to use this ability that you already possess to make those changes that you want to make.
There are many different ways of practicing self-hypnosis just like there are many ways to relax. You and your hypnotherapist can work together to determine which type of self-hypnosis is right for you.
At SEC all clients learn the basics of self-hypnosis usually in the first session. This is a tool you can take with you and use for the rest of your life! You can use it for ongoing support or to help you with any other issues that you may want to work on. It also requires commitment on your part to take the time each day to practice it. Remember, at SEC it is our goal to empower you with a variety of techniques so that you can continue to make healthy changes in your life.
